Ranch Day Camp
*New for 2018*
Ranch day camp offers campers the unique opportunity to experience working with horses in a day camp setting. Campers will depart from Camp Chase at 8am each day and embark on their journey to YMCA Camp Jewell.
“Hide-a-Way Ranch at Camp Jewell YMCA provides a unique setting for our Ranch Campers to enjoy a traditional camp experience with an equestrian focus. The one thing everyone has in common at Ranch Camp is the love and enjoyment of riding and working with horses. This creates a stronger, more personal relationship between the campers, riding groups, and in the overall Ranch Camp program.
Our 1 to 3 staff to camper ratio coupled with our highly trained riding instructors ensure that riders of all abilities are given the time and attention to improve their riding skills and talents.
Ranch Day Camp offers a variety of programs based on each camper’s age. The Junior Ranch Camp is offered as a two-week camp experience for our youngest Ranch campers ages 7-9. For older campers, we offer two-week sessions, but many campers opt to stay for four weeks or longer. Campers in the Ranch are divided in riding groups based on age—Drivers for ages 10-12 and Top Hands for ages 12-15. All campers will be able to participate in a variety of horse-related activities such as; trail rides, hayrides, vaulting and off-horse lessons in addition to their daily riding lessons. Regardless of riding ability or experience, beginner to advanced, our counselors and riding instructors focus on each individual camper, ensuring a great experience in the riding ring and in camp overall.”
This summer Ranch Day Camp will be offered weeks 2-7 divided in to two week sessions. For each week campers will be bused from YMCA Camp Chase to YMCA Camp Jewell. This is a unique opportunity so be sure to reserve your spot as space if sure to fill up quickly.
