Why Camp Chase?
Welcome to the YMCA Camp Chase program. Staff have been working hard getting programs running and I think you will be pleased. Camp Chase is a unique property allowing campers space to explore 70 acres of lush forest as well as swim in a pool. The schedule used by campers is built around age appropriate activities, developmental initiatives, as well as old fashion fun.
Below is some other great information for your family to review:
Come join us for a tour of our wonderful property! Led by our senior camp staff, tours last about 30 minutes and are a great opportunity to ask questions as well as learn more about camp. After your tour feel free to stay for the day and enjoy a swim in the pool or a picnic in one of our pavilions. The 2019 Open House dates are as follows:
- Saturday, May 25th: 12:00p-4:00p (opening weekend)
- Sunday, June 2nd: 12:00p-2:00p
- Saturday, June 15th: 12:00p-3:00p
*After May 26th you can also schedule a tour by contacting the camp office.*
Come join us for a family event every other Thursday at Camp. Please be sure to register for family night while signing up for camp. We will have family-friendly games and activities so everyone can join in, and a closing ceremony that you will never forget. Family Night dates are 6/27, 7/11, 7/25 & 8/08 from 5:30-7:00pm. We ask families to bring a side or healthy snack for the event. Camp Chase’s famous hotdogs are grilled!
Senior Camp Overnights
After our family night has ended, the senior camp kids have the opportunity to stay and sleep over at camp. The Pioneers, Rangers, LIT & CIT campers will spend the night with friends around a campfire and sleep in Upper Heart Lodge. Overnight dates are 6/27, 7/11, 7/25 & 8/08. Breakfast will be provided by the camp the next morning. Make sure campers bring sleeping bags, pillows, and a change of clothes for the next day.
Ranger trips are held every other Thursday throughout the summer. It is a special treat for our oldest day campers. This is an awesome opportunity to experience things some campers may not normally do. For example, last summer trips included Fishing, Mini Golf and Hiking just to name a few. These trips often utilize our states natural resources such as state parks. Permission slip and fee ($20 per) must be returned by Tuesday. The fee will be collected online. If your child is not partaking in the trip, alternate activities will be provided at camp for them.
This years trip dates are:
- July 3rd
- July 18
- August 1
- August 15
Camp Chase Lunch
We ask parents to send their children in with a healthy lunch in a brown paper bag. Please limit the sugary drinks and candy and load them up with fruits and a water bottle. We are excited to have a healthy lunch option return to camp this season. Parents will be able to purchase lunch for the week (5 days) or Mon/Wed/Fri.
*Must be registered for lunch prior to the week your child attends camp*
